Greater Anglia is a 60:40 joint venture between Transport UK Group and Mitsui.

The introduction of an entire new train fleet, in a £1.4 billion investment programme, means all our Greater Anglia services are now switched over to new train operation.

These new, state-of-the-art trains offer more seats, better accessibility and an excellent travelling environment, with air conditioning, plug points and free wifi. Meanwhile, substantial performance improvements have led to record levels of punctuality over the last three years and ongoing upgrades to stations, ticketing and information provision have also contributed to the positive transformation in service standards across our network.

Collaborative working with stakeholders and local communities, along with sustained improvements to energy efficiency and environmental performance, are other features of the operation - which won the Passenger Operator of the Year Award at the UK’s National Rail Awards in 2022, after winning the Train Operator of the Year award 2 years running at the UK’s Rail Business Awards in 2020 and 2021.
