Merseyrail is a 50:50 joint venture between Transport UK Group and Serco.

It became the first train operating company in the UK to have 99% of its trains arriving on time or within five minutes in early 2021.

The network is made up of 68 stations, four of which are underground in Liverpool city centre, keeping the people of the City Region travelling to where they need to be.

A new fleet of state-of-the-art trains has been introduced onto the Merseyrail network with innovative sliding step technology providing step-free access for all passengers – making Merseyrail one of the most accessible networks in the country.
